We are seeking a dedicated Farm Manager to oversee our agricultural operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for farming, animal care, and possess mechanical knowledge to maintain equipment and tools.

There will be a certain amount of work in and around the farm on grassed , muddy and uneven surfaces in all weathers. There will be some manual handling associated with general farm work. Will need to drive a tractor.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the welfare of animals and birds at the farm through routine and responsive inspection and care, including feeding, cleaning and watering.
- Provide strong and clear leadership of the farm staff team and volunteers.
- To monitor and be responsible for overseeing site security and bio-security measures for the safety of the animals, visiting members of the public, site partners and staff.
- Carry out basic maintenance of farm buildings, biosecurity features, fences, gates and animal pens
- Operate farm machinery and hand tools efficiently.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as needed.
- General farm work dealing with both small and large farm animals in stables, small enclosures and out in fields.

Experience:

- Have experience of and ability to supervise or motivate and develop a team
- Proven experience in farm management or a related field.
- Proficiency in equipment repair and maintenance.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory management and budgeting.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with garden maintenance techniques.

- Experience of working with farm machinery

- A formal qualification in farm management and conservation or equivalent to a NVQ level 3 or higher.

You will be working towards a professional/technical qualification and hold a relevant degree or technical equivalent e.g. HNC, NVQ4 or have equivalent relevant experience.
